Mitsubishi Shogun This customer wanted his vehicle prepared for a trip to Morocco and for off-road use on his return. We advised on what we thought was needed to make a truly unique vehicle. We fitted the following parts: OME uprated springs and shocks giving 30mm lift on the front and 40mm on the rear. ARB front winch bumper, on modified mounts and front x-member. ASFIR sump, transfer and fuel tank guards. 1,200lb winch with radio and remote control. Second battery tray and additional fuse/relay box. Isolator switch for winch. Optima red and yellow top batteries with split charge system. Fridge and storage bins. Midland 48 CB with power amp (for use in Morocco). Twin aerials with tuner, eight aux 12V sockets and split charge socket for the fridge. Full roof basket mounted on lockable Thule rails, to which we added a light-bar fitted with 4 WIPAC 8" 100W driving lights, 4 38mm waffles, storage tub, farm jack, roll-out FIAMA awning and a water container (black to absorb heat so it can be used for washing), lashing eyes and an aerial mount. Lights were wired through a nautical 12V plug to allow safe removal. We then added a false floor and ¾ bulkhead in the rear. Underneath this is a 2nd spare wheel, 3 half-size jerry cans, T-MAX compressor, ARB puncture repair kit, tent, chair, table, Draper 3 ton air jack, tool kit, magnetic remote 100W work light and recovery gear (strops, shackles, puley blocks, gloves, chocks, spade, etc.). We now stock a range of recovery equipment! The floor/bulkhead is made of 18mm marine-grade plywood covered in exhibition-grade carpet and has H/D lashing eyes. It is fixed on an aluminium frame, making it as light as possibel whilst giving it the strength to stand on to gain access to the roof basket. it is finished in aluminium checker-plate channel to protect the edges. We then made two fold-down shelves for the rear door to house the Calor dual-fuel cooker and bowl. We refitted the factory toolkit behind the drivers seat along with one of the two fire extinguishers and refitted the factory cargo net on the hinged panel in the false floor. We fitted a 25L fresh water container to the side and another one in the front foot-well. We also fitted a Kenlow 17" fan with turbo facility along with a Safari snorkel, trickl-charge solar panel and a 150W 240V inverter. We made a jacking plate for the rear ball/pin hitch to allow the use of a farm jack. This also acts as a step. We made a custom mount on the dash for the 7" Garmin widescreen satnav - so as to not obscure the driver's view. There is a second auxiliary fusebox mounted on the front storage box that supplies the in-car accessories (CB 12V aux sockets, CB amp, 12V fan and inverter). This is wired through a multi-plug to allow removal. The box is mounted on a steel fram that utilises the original seat mounting points and secures the fridge. The customer had the bumper, rear quarter panels and rear spoiler colour matched. He also supplied the greenway macho 265/75/16 tyres and rims, which we repainted black as requested. All of the accessories and parts are available to order and can be fitted in our fully equiped workshop. We are able to advise on, and prepare your vehicle for your trip to suit your budget.
